Our staff is assisted by many volunteers, both healthcare professionals (physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses) and community volunteers with a variety of important skills.
Volunteer Needs
Join us!
In helping our neighbors by volunteering your time and talents. We are neighbors caring for neighbors, a Volunteers-in-Medicine clinic offering primary medical care, basic dental care, behavioral health services and health & wellness education. The Community Health Center has a limited paid staff, the majority of our team – patient caregivers, office staff, event planners, etc. are volunteers.
We ask our volunteers for as little as four hours a month. We are happy to accommodate more or less time depending on what works for you. All volunteers will receive training and orientation geared toward the volunteer’s specific talents, interests and abilities.

Mission of Mercy
On Friday, July 26 Linda, Julie, Lauren, Tina, and Kim volunteered their time and talents at the Mission of Mercy dental clinic at PPG Paints arena in Pittsburgh.

Mission of Mercy is a free, two-day dental clinic for under-served people living in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, many of whom are from working families who do not have access to dental work or cannot afford dental insurance. ALL services were provided FREE of charge by local dental professionals, assisted by a host of volunteers.
620 patients from the greater Pittsburgh area were provided with dental care just on day one! This clinic utilized a team of dedicated volunteers, both clinical and non-clinical, to make the event happen. Treatments offered include: diagnosis by a dentist, minor restorative fillings, extractions, and cleanings. Additionally, patients were connected to the agencies that are available for further treatment in our community.

Thank you Linda, Julie, Lauren, Tina, and Kim for serving your community and thank you everyone who helped make Mission of Mercy 2019 a success!
